Maxwell Food Center is located near Chinatown. It is a 10 to 15mins walk from Chinatown MRT (NE4/DT19). Alternatively, you may wish to alight at Tanjong Pagar Station (EW15) and you shall reach Maxwell in approximately 20 to 25mins. When tourist come to Maxwell, the first food that come to the mind is Hainanese Chicken Rice. But we are not recommending that today as there are other hidden gems in the food centre. 1. China Street Fritters First on the list, is a traditional fritters stall which is a must eat to me whenever I visit. Unlike other similar stall, this stall maintains the traditional cuisine of pork liver roll and egg slice(旦(dàn)片(piàn)) which are my favorite. The pinkish sausage alike is called 'Guan Chang', the exterior is pork intestine and stuff with pork meat (adding some pink food colouring).
